Mark
Reynolds
Mark Reynolds was born in Scotland and began to play the tuba
at the age of fourteen. After two years of training at the Junior
Department of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, he
was selected to continue his studies there under the guidance
of Tony Swainson. In 1995 he obtained a B.A. degree in Musical
Studies. He completed his postgraduate studies at the Richard
Strauss Konservatorium in Munich (Germany) under the guidance
of Tom Walsh.
Mark has played in, among others, the Münchner Philharmoniker,
the Symphonie-Orchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Bayerische
Staatsoper, NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, the orchestra of De
Munt, the Vlaams Radio Orkest, the Scottish National Orchestra,
the B.B.C. Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Jeunesses Musicales
World Orchestra. In 1999 he was awarded a place in the Orchestra
Academy of the Munich Philharmonic.
He has premiered many works, including pieces written for the
World Brass Ensemble by such composers as Jan Koetsier and Mauricio
Kagel. He is also active in the world of contemporary music and
chamber music, and is active with such groups as the Hermes Ensemble
and Champ d'Action. Mark is also a member of the World Brass Ensemble.
In 2001 he started work as the solo tuba with deFilharmonie in
Antwerp. |
