Alain De
Rudder
Alain De Rudder studied at the Lemmensinstituut Leuven and at
the Brussels Royal Music Conservatory, where he won a first
class diploma for trumpet and the higher diploma for chamber
music. He then continued his studies under Prof. Reinhold Friedrich
at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe. In
1990 he was selected as solo trumpeter for the European Youth
Orchestra, where he played until 1993, under conductors such
as Claudio Abbado, Carlo Mario Guilini, Vladimir Ashkenazy and
Charles Dutoit.
Alain De Rudder was principal trumpet of ‘DeFilharmonie’
in Antwerp from 1992 until 2008 and is currently the first solo
trumpet in the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées. He is a
regular solo guest player with the Ensemble Modern, the Radio-Sinfonie-Orchester
Frankfurt, the NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, the Württembergisches
Kammerorchester Heilbronn, the Budapest Strings and the China
National Symphony Orchestra Beijing. Alain De Rudder teaches
trumpet at the Royal Flemish Conservatoire of the Hogeschool
Antwerpen and is a member of among
others the Ottone Brass Quintet, the Spectra Ensemble, Champ
d’Action and I Solisti del Vento.
